moping

Haven't written in a while (obviously). Have been thinking about stopping the blog and probably will, but had the need to vent about a few things tonight, so I thought I'd do it here for the random people that actually read it. :)

Been feeling kinda down for the last couple of days. I think I've narrowed it down to a couple of causes. First, there's this -- http://www.scotthousehold.com/ -- poor, beautiful angel, how she has blessed her family and so many others. She through her mother's words has touched my heart. It's still sad, though. Will be walking in the Light the Night walk to benefit Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on Allie's behalf this Saturday -- here's a link to my Light the Night Walk page if you'd like more details. http://www.active.com/donations/fundraise_public.cfm?key=ltnSBear Inching towards my fundraising goal, but I'm just not aggressive enough to really tackle people, but I'll keep working on that. :)

Some drama happened last week on a mom's forum that I've been going to since about last December or January. I'm one of the newer members, but I've really gotten a lot out of this group and have been pretty sad about the turn of events. Some of the members who I really liked aren't really around much anymore now. Lots of good people still around, though.

For those who don't like parent-bitching, don't read any further. . .
my parents are coming to visit tomorrow (assuming they aren't deterred by Ivan's path). This time I'm not going to fight the fact that they want to take over the TV when they are here despite the fact that they also control the TV at their house when we are there. I'm not going to expect them to drive up and be chatty and want to talk and catch up on things. They don't do that, so I won't even have that expectation. They can just come in and I'll give them a snack and we can sit and watch the local news and talk about the traffic or the weather. They'll bicker with each other about getting the stuff out of the car, etc. etc. I'll feed them dinner and then set them up in front of the TV. I spend most of my evenings in front of the computer anyway. DH has to work on his grant at night and then can go upstairs to watch TV. We can make it for a couple of days like this. Let's just hope that Ivan doesn't extend the visit.
